the problem
An organiser who needs a singer, a DJ or a magician for a date works through brokers and word of mouth. The artist at the end of that chain has no profile, no pipeline, and no protection on the payment.
what I built
ArtistNextDoor is a working marketplace: artists build profiles and take bookings, organisers post requirements and pay, and the unglamorous machinery that makes any of it trustworthy, the payment, refund and policy flows, actually exists behind the buttons.
I shipped work across its frontend and backend, a codebase of 1,166 commits between the two.
how it stays honest
The link below opens the production site, not a demo, and the capture on this page shows what a visitor gets. One note belongs in the open rather than in small print: the platform is a company's product, its ownership is not mine to claim, and this page claims only the work I shipped into it.
